The cleaning industry covers a diverse range of environments and skills, from laundry and domestic cleaning to commercial and specialised services. This varied industry employs around one million people in the UK and continues to grow across all sectors.

This qualification provides you with vital knowledge of the main principles and skills of cleaning that can be used across a range of environments.
This qualification aims to develop your understanding of the principles of decontamination and improve your practical skills, such as cleaning and waste management. This course will also expand your knowledge of health and safety and provide insight into infection control and regulations, such as RIDDOR and COSHH.
The course will be fully delivered through distance learning – therefore there is no attendance required in the classroom.
There is a skills element in this qualification which must be observed, therefore learners must be employed in a cleaning role.
PLEASE NOTE: To complete a Distance Learning course you must be aged over 19.
The units covered on this course include:
Unit 1: Dealing with routine and non-routine waste
Unit 2: Health and safety for the cleaning and support services industry
Unit 3: Working with customers and others in the cleaning and support services industry
Unit 4: Infection control, RIDDOR and COSHH in cleaning settings
Unit 5: Principles of decontamination, cleaning and waste management
Unit 6: Cleaning of interiors and washrooms. (Unit 6 includes witness observations.)

This course costs FREE, including exam fees.
You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
