This cybersecurity single unit is designed for those interested in learning about cybercrime. You will understand routine protective methods used to maintain cybersecurityincluding the principles of vulnerability and penetration testing and user access control. Protecting yourself and your business from cyber security risks can seem daunting but there are some simple steps you can take to ensure you have the basics in place.
Successful completion of the course will achieve a Cyber Security Level 2 Award
- Course Overview
You will investigate the accidental and malicious security threats that exist to IT sytems and data. You will also learn about system vulnerbilities and the tools and techniques used to protect users from risks and potential damage, including loss of data interrity and unauthorised access to data.
The main areas included in this workshop are:
Understand security protection and risk management isssues
Understand measures to protect IT systems and data from current and evolving threats
Be able to implement measures to protect IT systems and data
Understand current legal and ethical requirements and IT security policies and procedures

To study this course, you must have a good level of IT and Digital Skill. You will also need to pass an assessment in order to be on the course.
- Course Fees
This course costs £95.50, including exam fees.
You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
