This qualification aims to introduce the concepts of equality and diversity in a variety of environments including society, the community and the workplace. It will also highlight how stereotyping and labelling affect individuals and outline the effects of prejudice and discrimination.

The programme will allow the learner to examine rights and responsibilities, stress the importance of taking individual responsibility and action to help and support others and provide a basis for further study and/or career development.

On completion of this course you will receive a Level 2 Certificate in the Equality & Diversity from TQUK.

PLEASE NOTE: To complete a Distance Learning course you must be aged over 19.

Course Overview

The units covered on this course include:

Unit 1: Equality and diversity in society

Discover the meaning behind the term ‘equality’ and explore the damaging effects of stereotyping and labelling.

Unit 2: Equality and diversity in the community

Develop an understanding of the extent of diversity that exists within a community and understand the benefits of promoting a culture of equality and diversity.

Unit 3: Equality and diversity in the workplace

Learn how equality and diversity can be promoted and maintained by employees and the benefits of having a dynamic, diverse workforce.

Progression Routes

Progressions routes are,

  • Principles of Dementia Care Level 2 Certificate

  • Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities Level 2 Certificate

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements to this course.

Course Fees

This course costs FREE, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
