The course is designed to support and enhance the knowledge of existing or prospective drivers who wish to develop or start a career in transporting passengers. Candidates will be introduced to the importance of delivering good customer service and the importance of good communications and positive working relationships.

We have teamed up with Lancaster City Council to bring you The Introduction to the role of the Taxi & Private Hire Driver training course. This is a compulsory course if you wish to become a Taxi Driver in the Lancaster and Morecambe districts.

Course Overview

The course requires the delegate to complete 6 units:

  • Unit 1 – Health & Safety

  • Unit 2 – Road Safety When Driving Passengers

  • Unit 3 – Professional Customer Service

  • Unit 4 – Regulatory Framework

  • Unit 5 – Services for passengers that require assistance

  • Unit 6 – CSE & Safeguarding

Each unit comes with a multiple choice exam to test your knowledge. All units must be completed and passed to complete the course.

Entry Requirements

A pre-course knowledge test consisting of 45 questions which takes place at Lancaster & Morecambe College and must be passed prior to being enrolled on the 2-day course.

Once the knowledge test has been completed and successfully passed you will be able to book onto the 2-day course that is delivered at Lancaster & Morecambe college.

Course Fees

This course costs £150.00, including exam fees.
