Pathway to Service Industries will prepare you for the working in a customer facing role and help you to build skills and confidence to work in face paced, consumer led business within the industries such as Retail, Customer service and Hospitality settings.
The course will focus on Customer Service and Employability Skills, and will include:
Business Admin
Business, marketing and sales
Basic ICT skills
Retail knowledge
Introduction to the Hospitality Industry
Working on Reception
As part of this course you are responsible for completing 50 hours of work placement or work-related opportunities.
All students aged 16 -19 are also required to study Functional Skills English and Math’s qualifications or GCSE Math’s and English if not already awarded a grade C/4 or higher in these subjects. If you have a grade D/3 at GCSE you will study Math’s and/or English GCSE. Students with a grade lower than D/3 will work towards GCSE through the study of Math’s and English Functional Skills.
You will study a Level 1 NCFE Certificate in Principles of working in Customer Service or Aim Awards L1 Certificate in Employability Skills
As part of this course you are responsible for completing 50 hours of work placement or work-related opportunities with the support from teaching staff, which is a great opportunity to find relevant work experience in your own community.
This course can lead to further training on a Full Time Level 1 /2 course in Customer service/ Employability skills or moving into a mainstream environment within LMC such as
Travel and Tourism
Business
Cabin Crew
No formal qualifications are required for this course but a willingness to show a commitment to improving your own Math’s and English skills is required. You must have a proven Interest in the vocational area , be able to work independently and demonstrate teamwork skills.
