The VTCT Level 2 Award in Head Massage is a qualification that is designed to develop your practical skills in providing a relaxing and stress relieving head massage.

You will learn about the condition of the hair and scalp along with massage techniques using a range of mediums. You will also learn about the contra-indications to head massage, as well as the benefits of the treatment.

This course will involve practical and theory elements, with learners working on their peers to develop their skills and complete practical assessments.

Course Overview

To study this course you must:

  • Health and Safety

  • Anatomy & Physiology

  • Theory relating to head massage

  • Practical application of head massage

The course will contain practical assessment and theory assignments.

You will need to wear a black shirt/t shirt, black trousers and black shoes, or a uniform if you have one

Progression Routes

On completing this course you may be able to progress onto:

  • Beauty Therapy Level 2

  • Hairdressing Level 2

  • Barbering Level 2

Entry Requirements

To study this course, you must:

  • Show enthusiasm for the subject area

  • Enjoy working with other people

  • Be able to work independently

  • Show a commitment to study

  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills

Learners aged 19-23 MUST have a prior attainment of Full L2 or above to be funded. Funding for 24+ may be available regardless of prior attainment level.

For ESOL learners you must hold a Level 1 in Literacy

Course Fees

This course costs £65.50, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
