When training for easyJet, the things I learnt from my course helped me understand a lot of things during training, like different codes for special assistance, plane mechanisms, survival and most importantly customer service.

Marissa visited LMC in 2021 and attended one of our Open Evenings as she had an interest in future careers within the travel industry.

When she first got here, she realised she had to be 18 to study on the Air Cabin Crew course so she spoke to our tutors about what were the best steps for her to take. They encouraged her to apply for the Travel and Tourism course first and then to progress onto Cabin Crew when she was old enough and it was one of the best decisions Marissa made.

I thoroughly enjoyed both courses and they gave me plenty of insight into the travel industry, not just cabin crew but also travel agents, cruise ship workers, holiday reps and many more.

Marissa knew that studying on the Air Cabin Crew course would give her the skills, knowledge and behaviours she needed to develop her CV when applying for roles within the travel industry. Some of the key skills she learnt on both courses included customer service, time management and respect.

We asked Marissa, how did the course benefit her professionally and she said...

The information from both courses allowed me to understand more information provided to me during training. It also helped me apply for jobs as I was taught where and how to do it and what looks good for each individual company I applied for.

Marissa said the most enjoyable parts of her course were the life-long friends that she made and the trips she was able to go on also. Whilst studying Travel and Tourism, Marissa was able to visit Paris and Disneyland Paris with her fellow students and tutors, something they all thoroughly enjoyed. Marissa also said that doing both courses has given her the chance to stand out from others in the process of applying for jobs and has opened doors for her that she wouldn't have had access to before.

We asked Marissa, what has been her biggest accomplishment since leaving College and she said...

Getting a permanent contract with easyJet has been my biggest accomplishment so far. I currently work as seasonal Cabin Crew at easyJet but I have just accepted a permanent contract, I come in, do security checks, deal with any medical issues and make someone’s holiday great before it starts and finishes.

We also asked Marissa, what she would say to someone who was thinking of joining LMC on either the Travel and Tourism course or Cabin Crew and she said...

It really helped me understand more about different roles, but especially cabin crew. Having that extra bit of knowledge made training less stressful as I had prior knowledge, something most applicants don't have.
