This 5-day course is suitable for experienced electricians looking to improve skills and understanding of Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations. The course covers inspecting and testing of new, existing single, and three-phase installation in line with the requirements of BS 7671, as well as the correct completion of certification and reporting.
The cost of the course is £950 which includes lunch each day, as well as Guidance Note 3.
On completion of the course the learner will achieve a City & Guilds QCF Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391-52).
This qualification gives the individual the knowledge and practical skills to allow them to complete electrical installation or minor works certificates on electrical installations before putting them into service and completing periodic inspection and testing.
You will learn:
The legal responsibilities of an inspector
The reason for electrical inspection
A greater understanding of practical testing techniques
How to complete electrical installation certificates (including inspection schedule and test results schedule)
How to complete electrical installation condition reports
Practical inspection and testing of installations
The course is assessed by the following:
1 x 2-hour multiple choice exam (open book)
1 x Written paper (completed during the practical exam)
1 x 4-hour practical exam including Visual Inspection & Periodic Inspection & Testing

It is recommended to purchase the following reading material to support the open book exam:
A current copy of the 18th Edition wiring regulation (essential)
On-site Guide
On completion of the course the learner will achieve a City & Guilds QCF Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391-52). Electricians will then be fully competent and qualified to carry out Inspection and Testing on electrical installation. A 2391 Award is also required to join Part P schemes and gain a JIB gold card, making this course a high priority in your electrical training.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, candidates must be 18 or over and have some experience of electrical installation work and a good understanding of electrical science and principles. It is also strongly recommended that candidates hold a qualification related to the latest edition (BS7671 – 18th Edition).

This course costs £950.00, including exam fees.
