This course offers an introduction to the exciting and prosperous careers available in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. You will gain knowledge and learn new skills in a variety of basic Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy services via practical and theory sessions.

On completion of this course you will receive a City and Guilds Level 1 Diploma in an Introduction to the Hair & Beauty Sector.

Course Overview

Units studied on this course will include:

  • Introduction to hair and beauty sector

  • Personal presentation

  • Shampoo & condition

  • Styling women's hair,

  • How to provide a basic manicure

  • Skin care basics

The course will contain practical assessment and theory assignments.

Smart black clothing to be worn or a uniform if you have one, and you may be required to purchase a block head at a cost of approximately £40.

Entry Requirements

To study this course, you must:

  • Show enthusiasm for the subject area

  • Enjoy working with other people

  • Be able to work independently

  • Show a commitment to study

  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills

For ESOL learners you must hold a Level 1 in Literacy

Course Fees

This course costs £163.00, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
