This Level 3 Diploma is the perfect gateway into the exciting Travel & Tourism industry. It is a great choice if you are looking for an exciting role which could take you around the world.

You will gain an insight into all relevant sectors of the industry and our expert tutors will teach you the necessary skills to prepare you for life in the profession.

You will be assessed via a range of methods, including projects, assignments, presentations, multiple choice tests, and role plays.

Course Overview

As part of the course you will have opportunities to visit different areas within the travel and tourism industry to gain an insight into practices and life in the sector. Previous trips have been included holiday park visits, cruise terminal tours, chill factor, tour operator office tours, and more.

You will join in a variety of team-building activities during your course, both on and off-campus.

Industry experts will come to campus as guest speakers and share their knowledge and experience with you so you are prepared for working within travel and tourism. A variety of guest speakers will visit, including Jet2holidays who host a career session and share an insiders’ view of the company’s recruitment process which will give you a better idea of how to research and apply for roles on the company’s website.

The course is delivered over a 35-week programme and contains 7 core units as well as English or Maths if necessary. These units will create a solid foundation for you to progress into working in travel and tourism or progressing into higher education, progressing into higher education or onto the Air Cabin Crew course.

  • Tourism in the UK

  • Work Placement

The expenses for this course are £85. You may be entitled to financial support depending on your circumstances.

Industry Links

As part of the course, you will take part in a 50-hour work placement which will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills and gain real-world experience in the industry. We have strong links with well-known industry names such as TUI, Parkdean Resorts, and Jet2holidays which open up exclusive opportunities to you throughout the course.

• Tourism Information Offices

These placements will allow you to apply your knowledge and skills gained in the classroom and improve your confidence in the workplace.

You’ll also receive advice and important tips from industry experts during recruitment days where you will learn how to stand out from the crowd and be successful in the industry.

Progression Routes

Upon completion of the course, you will have the opportunity to work in the travel and tourism industry in a variety of exciting roles such as:

  • Airline Customer Service Agent

  • Event Coordinator

  • Holiday Representative

  • Hotel Manager

  • Tour Manager

  • Tourism Officer

  • Travel Agent

  • Visitor Attraction Manager

You will also have the opportunity to progress onto a related university course, such as BSc (Hons) Tourism Management, available at many universities across the country.

Successful completion of the course will enable you to progress onto the Level 2 Air Cabin Crew course which provides the pathway to becoming a Cabin Crew member for major airlines.

Entry Requirements

Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 including English and maths OR a related Level 2 qualification plus minimum grade C/4 or higher in both GCSE English and Maths.

Students should have an enthusiasm for travel and tourism, a commitment to study, and enjoy working with people.
