Lancaster and Morecambe College are seeking an accountancy professional with a desire to pass on their skills to the next generation of accountants. Taking a lead in developing specialist training in Accountancy ranging from short courses to apprenticeship provision and working with local employers, you will be pro-active in promoting Accountancy courses; teaching on AAT accredited courses up to Level 4; and responding to employers’ training needs.
You should ideally be qualified to a minimum of Level 4 in AAT/ACCA or have equivalent experience. You should we teacher qualified or willing to undertake this training. Support and mentoring are provided to those new to teaching.

Job Purpose:
Key Tasks / Responsibilities:
A teaching commitment in line with College policy as agreed annually with the Apprenticeship Manager. You will plan and deliver teaching/learning programme using a flexible range of engaging strategies to promote learning, taking responsibility for the continual development of own teaching and related curriculum.
Develop learning resources/materials to meet individual learner needs, promote independent learning skills, devise appropriate assignments, tutorials and learning programmes and maintain records that support the learning experience.
Actively promote Accountancy courses to local employers and respond to their training needs.
Work within an agreed curriculum framework and to agreed targets/objectives, and contribute to curriculum development activities.
Undertake administrative tasks as required by the Apprenticeship Manager.
Act as a course manager and/or course tutor as appropriate, supporting the apprenticeship provision developing appropriate skills, knowledge and behaviours of all learners.
Work effectively with apprenticeship lead co-ordinator and trainers to monitor learner progress and intervention strategies where required.
Assist with recruitment, selection and enrolment, providing high quality information, advice and guidance to students.
Promote and support the positive behaviour of students.
Accompany and supervise students on educational and training visits if required.
Other duties commensurate with the grade of post as required.
