What I’ve gained most from this course is confidence. I started AAT Accounting Level 2 as a very shy and quiet student, but as I have become more knowledgeable, my confidence has also strengthened. After passing each AAT level it has opened up so many doors for me at work, as with each new skill I learn I am able to pursue more tasks at work.
It’s all thanks to the course I took and my amazing tutors, that I now have my dream career! I would highly recommend the course to anyone wanting to go to university, without the Access course I would never have had the opportunity as I only had 1 GCSE when I left high school.
After retiring, life was great for a while until I got bored. I saw an advert for a part time cooking courses at Lancaster & Morecambe College and, at the age of 70, decided to enrol. My mother had been a confectioner and a great cook, so I thought it was appropriate to follow in her footsteps and see what I could do!
The best bit about the course was working with the animals, some of the animals that we worked with were rabbits, rats, spiders, fish, hamsters and even chinchillas. They have many animals that you can work with, and you won't be working with the same animals every practical lesson.
I chose to study at Lancaster & Morecambe College because I wanted to build my confidence and gain more knowledge, and learn about bar service, silver service, customer service, and barista skills. I’ve really enjoyed working with my peers and staff during the dinner services in the College restuarant, The Bay Restaurant, and learning more about the hospitality industry.
Anyone who is interested in starting the Hairdressing Apprenticeship, I would say you gain lots of personal and hairdressing skills from doing the course and it is definitely worth taking the hairdressing qualification.
