I would recommend this course if you know you want a sport related career, even if you aren’t sure which area of sport specifically. The course explores many different aspects of sports and by developing an understanding of each topic you start to discover which area of sport suits you best.

David Carruthers chose to study Sport at LMC because he wanted to receive a good education while also being able to play football at a high standard.

Being a student on the Sport Level 3 course as well as a member of the Football Academy during his time at LMC, David experienced a high standard of coaching, the opportunity to play football every day, and the exposure to great facilities.

David explained that his favourite part of the Sport course at LMC was being able to apply the skills and knowledge he’d developed to assignments and practical activities. He noted that the course content was also well-suited to prepare him for a higher level of study in sport:

The content on the Sport Level 3 course is almost identical to what I am studying now at university but at a more advanced level. The knowledge that LMC gave me has really helped me progress onto Level 6 study.

David is currently at Leeds Beckett University studying Sport & Exercise Science

I'm in my third and final year so am currently writing my dissertation, as well as studying four modules; applied physiology, performance nutrition, principles of strength & conditioning, and sport in extreme environments. My course consists of a lot of studying and research, but I'm hoping my hard work will help me achieve the grades I need to move onto a Master’s degree in Sport & Exercise Nutrition.

When asked what advice he would give to someone considering studying Sport Level 3 at LMC, David said:
