“As soon as interviewed, I knew I was keen to work here. I loved the atmosphere of the classrooms and the department that John and the rest of the team have created. One of my favourite things about the role is getting to talk about my passion. It’s not often people get to do that for a living. I’m very lucky!”
Brad joined Lancaster and Morecambe College in June as a Creative Digital Media Lecturer and has quickly settled into his new role, describing his experience so far as thoroughly enjoyable. His journey into education began at Blackpool Sixth Form, where he studied Creative Digital Media. Giving him a unique perspective and understanding of the student experience. Brad later pursued higher education at SAE Institute in Liverpool, specialising in Film Production, and graduated with a BA Honours in Digital Film Production. Following his studies, he gained valuable industry experience through freelance projects and film work before transitioning into teaching, which led him to LMC. In August, Brad’s documentary 'Inertial' received its first award at the Lytham International Film Festival.

As a Creative Digital Media Lecturer, Brad is helping to train the next generation of filmmakers, content creators, designers, and game developers. Each unit offers something different, and he’s excited to see what students will produce throughout the course.
“If you’re considering studying the course, I would say do it! We’re getting hands-on with gear at every opportunity, exploring the creative arts industry, and getting ourselves ready to take on a career as a filmmaker, game designer, content creator. Anything else creative you can think of!”
A recent achievement of Brad’s is his latest documentary, 'Inertial', which has just won its first award at the Lytham International Film Festival. It’s a short documentary that tells the story of Troy Bradford and Inertial Sounds, an independent record store in Blackpool. The film highlights the store’s influence on the town’s independent music scene and the cultural value it brings to the community. It has also been entered into Morecambe’s The Bay International Film Festival, so keep an eye out for a screening!
Brad shared that his team remains optimistic about receiving further nominations and festival screenings, with pre-production already underway for their next project. As he begins teaching his first classes this academic year, his recent achievement serves as an inspiring example for students pursuing creative careers. We’re pleased to have such a skilled filmmaker and educator join the LMC team.
It’s really difficult to state just one thing I love about working at Lancaster & Morecambe College because there are so many! I really wanted to work here because the college has a fantastic reputation. I love introducing new ways of working and keeping up with relevant trends to improve the course, and I really enjoy the supportive environment that we create for our students.
I really enjoy being part of the LMC Beauty Team and working within the department. Watching my students grow and develop their ideas and skillsets week on week is a really exciting part of my role, particularly when I can see them challenging themselves to get creative and try out new and different ideas.
My favourite part of this role is working with such an amazing team here at Lancaster & Morecambe College, and also being able to pass on my industry knowledge to all my students and support them in their journey to becoming a Beauty Therapist.
My favourite part of my job is helping people achieve their GCSE English, a key qualification which will open doors for them in the future.
Behind every great business is a fantastic accountant! AAT qualifications are highly valued and they can really push you to achieve great things in your career. The whole team at LMC are dedicated and excited about giving you the best possible start in your new journey!
My favourite aspect of my role is seeing learners who struggle to believe in themselves when they first begin their journey at LMC, but eventually realise that they are very capable. It is a lightbulb moment when they realise they can be or do anything they want to. Learners walk through our gates unsure of themselves and sometimes struggle to believe in their abilities, but by the end of their journey they walk out of LMC confident and ready to take on the world.
