Denise Almond works with the Apprenticeship Team and teaches students on the Accountancy Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships. 

Before joining Lancaster & Morecambe College Denise had her own accountancy practice and has worked in the industry for over 40 years. She started working at Lancaster & Morecambe College in September 2022, as she had always wanted to become a teacher and share her knowledge that she'd obtained over the years spent as a qualified Accountant!

My favourite part of the role are the students that I work with! I really enjoy watching them progress and develop their skills. There are so many exciting careers in Finance, and being a key figure in the next generation of accountants is my biggest motivator. With so many years of experience, I can share stories and solutions to problems that I may have faced, with students who may be going through the same things. I feel this is so important when it comes to setting people up with the skills they need.

Denise's main responsibility is to support students and provide all of the basic knowledge they will need at the start of their journey into an Accountancy role. She will be able to use real life scenarios in her teaching, to ensure that students are set up to succeed within their roles. The AAT qualifications at LMC are designed alongside employers, so you’ll receive up to date, industry relevant information within your lessons.
