I would say applying to the Sports course at LMC was one of the best decisions I have ever made, from the memories I created to the career I have now. The course is practical, exciting, and genuinely prepares you for the world of work. If you love sport and want to turn that passion into a career, LMC is the place to do it. I would love to relive my time at LMC — they were some of the best years of my life.

Georgia studied at Lancaster & Morecambe College for 2 years on the Sports Diploma Level 3 course. Georgia loved her time at college as the course  is perfect for anyone who loves sport and fitness and wants to work in the growing Sport and Leisure industry, or progress to university to study a sport-related subject.

It was a brilliant course that ultimately led me to my current career as a Personal Trainer and Pilates instructor. I had always been sporty throughout my life and initially applied for the Sports course at LMC with the goal of becoming a PE teacher. However, the course gave me valuable insight into what it was like to train and coach others, and I discovered how much I enjoyed helping people feel like the best version of themselves.

She valued the wide range of opportunities offered by the Sports course at LMC, including teaching in schools and studying a broad variety of topics. These experiences played a key role in helping her progress to where she is today, working as a Personal Trainer and running her own Personal Training business. As a Personal Trainer she designs personalised programmes, delivering one-to-one and group sessions, and supporting clients in achieving their health and fitness goals.

While on the course, I was fortunate to be offered the opportunity to travel to Bulgaria, where I coached a range of sports to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The course supported my professional development and prepared me for a career in the sports industry by strengthening my coaching and teaching skills through working with people of all ages. As a result, I developed strong communication and leadership skills, alongside increased confidence, teamwork, and the ability to motivate individuals of all abilities to achieve their goals.

Whilst on the course, Georgia developed a genuine passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals. LMC provided her with the tools and knowledge needed to turn something she loves into a successful career. Her biggest achievement is transforming her passion for fitness into a thriving career and running a successful business — something she is incredibly proud of.

When asked what she would say to someone who was thinking about doing the course, Georgia replied:
