The UK tourism industry is one of the largest in the world. Tourism related employment accounts for 3.1 million jobs in the UK.
This course enables students to develop core knowledge of the travel and tourism industry. This course offers a taste of the types of employment opportunities available in the travel and tourism sector. Taught by industry experts, students will build foundation knowledge of the travel and tourism industry which can be applied to many occupations.
This course is designed for 16-18 year old and will be delivered as a study programme which includes math and English where applicable and work experience. The course will include a substantial amount of careers related learning designed to support progression to the suitable next step, this could include educational trips, employability skills and employer encounters such as guest speakers.
Following successful completion of this course you could progress onto:
• Air Cabin Crew Level 2
• Level 3 Travel and Tourism
• Customer Service Apprenticeship
• Business Administration Apprenticeship
Alternatively you could progress to employment in the tourism sector. Some of the roles that our students have progressed on to are:

4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or higher including Maths or English OR a Level 1 related qualification PLUS grade D/3 or higher in Maths or English.
Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.

All LMC students will receive one-to-one tutorial support.
All students aged 16 -19 are required to study Functional Skills English and maths qualifications or GCSE Maths and English if not already awarded a C/4 or higher in these subjects. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment.
This course is assessed using a range of methods including coursework, presentations, assignments, role plays and short online examinations.
On completion of this course you will gain a City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
