This 12 week printmaking course has been designed to provide students with exciting and challenging experiences within different printmaking media and combinations.

This course will allow learners to develop skills in printmaking by developing a portfolio of work which demonstrates your practical and technical understanding. You will learn how to use equipment and techniques safely, as well as research practitioners working in the field. This includes intaglio printing, relief printing and mixed media combinations. You will reflect on your own practice whilst developing your own style and skills into your portfolio of work.

Course Overview

You will be introduced to ways of working in printmaking and produce a portfolio of experimental practical work. This will include understanding how to use equipment and processes correctly and safely, and researching other practitioners’ work. Over the 12 weeks you will engage in different workshops and aim to complete test pieces and refined outcomes within the given timeframe.

After completion of this course, learners may wish to studyanother Part Time course at Lancaster & Morecambe College, including:

  • Introduction to Painting - Level 1

  • Music Studio Recording – Level 1

  • Games Design & Development - Level 1

Entry Requirements

You will need a general education at entry level, enthusiasm for the subject area, commitment to study and to be able to work independently.

Course Fees

This course costs £103.00, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
