Safeguarding adults and upholding the dignity of those accessing health and social care services are key principles in the sector.
The purpose of this qualification is to give learners currently working or intending to work in adult health or social care an understanding of dignity and safeguarding and their relevance in health and social care, and how you can work to uphold these key principles.
Learners will investigate the principles and how they are applied in everyday work contexts.
PLEASE NOTE: To complete a Distance Learning course you must be aged over 19.
The units covered on this course include:
Unit 1 – Understanding Safeguarding in adult health and social care.
You will gain an understanding of what safeguarding is, and individuals rights, and the roles and responsibilities relating to safeguarding.
Unit 2 – Principles of dignity in adult health and social care practice.
In this unit you will develop your knowledge about how to promote individuals dignity, in working practice.
Unit 3- Understand Duty of care in adult health and Social care.
You will learn about - What is a duty of care, and roles and responsibilities to promote it.
Unit 4 – Understand dilemma’s and public concerns in adult health and social care.
You will gain an understanding of what concerns the general public have in adult health and social care, and dilemma’s you may face in your work.
