The Creative Media Production HND further develops students’ practical skills and project management skills in preparation for a career in the creative media industry. Participants will use professional standard equipment and software to produce a substantial portfolio of media projects with emphasis on student conceptualisation, design and execution from the ground up through to completion.
The course emphasises practical studio production skills whilst further developing a creative and professional approach to media production in a more challenging environment with opportunities for live briefs working with local organisations and businesses.
HND projects are of greater depth and complexity, developing your knowledge and skills and preparing you for a career in the creative media industry.
You will need:
64 UCAS Points (new tariff) or 160 points (legacy tariff)
GCSE maths and English at grade C/4 or higher
You will also need enthusiasm for the subject with a commitment to study, and show good skills in practical subjects.
The course is for school (A-Level)/college graduates and adults looking to advance their knowledge of media production techniques with the aim of working in the industry.
While on programme, students will build up a sizeable portfolio of creative media projects, working individually and as part of a team.
While on the course you will complete a variety of projects through which you will understand the discipline of working to design briefs within digital and interactive media environments. These may include exploring a range of animation techniques for various media channels, producing digital 3D models suitable for animation, video and gaming outcomes.
During the programme you will have the opportunity to investigate and design your own specialist investigation to create a final major project entirely of your own direction and output. This is often geared towards your own specialist interest area within the media industries and personal career progression.
All LMC students receive tutorial support.
Successful students may progress onto HND and to University to top up to a full honours degree, go into employment in the media industry or operate freelance.
