Lancaster & Morecambe College (LMC) have worked in partnership with National Citizen Service (NCS) since 2015, enabling a wide range of our students to take part in the NCS programme as part of their College course.
Over the years our involvement with the youth development programme has increased, resulting in the college becoming a key partner for NCS and their delivery partner, Inspira.
With a relationship built on mutual aims and shared outcomes focused on improving opportunities for young people, the Autumn NCS programme has become a key part of our induction process, helping students to bond with each other, build key employability skills, develop confidence and challenge themselves.
Lancaster & Morecambe College is proud to work in partnership with Inspira and NCS to support the all-round development of our students and young people from across our community. As a college we have seen the huge impact that NCS has in challenging young people to become positive contributors in their communities and great ambassadors for the young citizens of our country.
It is an experience which helps enhance the students’ personal and social development They gain so much from the programme, particularly when it comes to developing independence and employability skills. We believe that young people can make a positive difference in our community and we are proud of the hard work and determination all the students have shown.

Due to social distancing restrictions, we are unable to offer the full NCS Autumn residential programme, but we are still keen for our learners to benefit from the experience and opportunity NCS brings. Students from our Sports, Public Services, Construction, Engineering and Aspire courses will take part in an adapted version of NCS throughout the autumn term.
