LMC partners with Lancaster & Morecambe Chamber of Commerce to boost apprenticeship opportunities

Posted: 07.01.2026

Lancaster & Morecambe Chamber of Commerce has sponsored jackets for the LMC Apprenticeship and Employer Engagement teams to highlight a shared commitment to developing the next generation of workers.

While the two organisations already work closely together, this initiative marks the start of a new collaboration aimed at supporting local businesses to offer apprenticeships. Sponsorship of the Apprenticeship and Employer Engagement teams jackets aims to raise awareness of both the College and the Chamber as the team represents them while visiting businesses across the region.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to developing future talent, promoting apprenticeship opportunities, and strengthening connections between education and the local business community.

Jayne Roper, Apprenticeship Manager at Lancaster & Morecambe College, said:

“This partnership with the Chamber of Commerce is incredibly valuable for our Apprenticeship  and Employer Engagement teams plus the employers we work with. Having the Chamber’s support helps raise awareness of apprenticeship opportunities while reinforcing the strong connection between the College and the local business community. We’re proud to be working together to support skills development across the region.”

By working together, Lancaster & Morecambe College and the Chamber of Commerce aim to strengthen the local economy, expand apprenticeship opportunities, and provide mutual support to businesses and emerging talent across the region.

Graham White, CEO of Lancaster & Morecambe Chamber of Commerce, added:

“We are delighted to partner with Lancaster & Morecambe College through this initiative. This is just the start of our collaboration with the Apprenticeship Team. Together, we can support more businesses, create more apprenticeship places, and help local talent develop meaningful careers. Partnerships like this make a real difference to both employers and young people.”
