Our focus is the development of a college community garden and outdoor learning space through which will be used to engage and educate all sections of the college community to the green agenda. In the first instance the need to support young people in the understanding of growing food in a sustainable way, while utilising the benefits of learning in an outdoor environment.

The garden would promote the growth of a variety of fruit and vegetables to be used in the college kitchens by learners, as well as giving them the knowledge of growing produce right the way through to serving it in the college restaurant, while also supporting other community initiatives working to reduce food poverty and promote social cohesion.

We also focus on Recycling, composting green waste from the kitchens and upcycling to further create an outdoor learning area from a variety of sustainable locally sourced materials. This goes to support further, learners understanding of local issues, their environment and their contribution to the wider community as citizens.
