In March we will be running four weeks of after school taster sessions. Designed for students in Years 10 and 11, these sessions will give students a flavour of college life to help them make the right choice when deciding on a course after school.

Animal Studies Monday 4.15 - 5.15pm 06/03/2017 4

An opportunity to learn about and look after some of the 200 animals kept within the LMC collection.

You will need signed parental permission which will be emailed to you for completion, evidence of an up to date Tetanus vaccination, flat footwear (e.g. work boots, wellies), water proof jacket (weather dependent) and suitable clothing for working with animals.

A brief introduction to the world of horticulture and the chance to experience and use the industry standard facilities we have here at LMC.

Creative Digital Media Tuesday 4.00 - 5.00pm 07/03/2017 4 An introduction to some of the software used on the creative digtal media, Games Development and Film & TV courses.

Use of computers to create compositions, from looking at drum programming and sequencing to the use of samplers and synthesisers to create your own compositions - from this we can then record vocals - if we have some vocalists in the group - to complete your compositions.

Carry out a project over the four week course using basic joining techniques.

Building “Deadmen” and “Pyramids” using bricks and mortar.

Try out different aspects of plumbing including pipework fabrication, soldering and appliance fitting

You will review your performance each week, set targets to develop and repeat to see if target has been reached.

You will need to bring suitable sports clothing and a drink with you.

Public Services Tuesday 4.00 - 5.30pm 07/03/2017 4

A range of Public Services activities followed by a review/skills audit of performance.
Different activities x 4 over 4 weeks.

You will review your performance each week, set targets to develop and repeat to see if target has been reached.
