During this 12-week course, you will learn basic skills in digital image manipulation, using software such as; Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Premier Pro.

You creative thinking, ideas and technical understanding will develop a portfolio of work in photography, film and animation during the weekly workshops. You will also learn how to use professional equipment and techniques safely, including studio lights, cameras, computer software packages and Apple Mac computers.

This course is perfect for anyone that wants to be more creative in their everyday lives and gain skills in the above digital platforms.

Entry Requirements

You will need internet access at home to work on your Wix website, a phone or a camera that allows you to take photographs and videos. You will also need a USB stick to save your work.

You will need a general education at entry level, commitment to study and to be able to work independently and with peers.

Course Activities

You will study the following three units.

  • Explore craft resources

  • Explore craft ideas

  • Create, present and review final project

You will be introduced to ways of working in your chosen craft area and produce an online Wix portfolio of experimental practical work. This will include understanding how to use equipment and processes correctly and safely, and researching other practitioners’ work.

Occasional home study is required on this course, including gathering images or video footage.

This course can lead onto a Full Time or other Part Time course at Lancaster & Morecambe College, including:

  • Level 3 Creative Digital Media

  • Level 2 iMedia

  • Level 2 Drawing (Part Time)

  • Level 2 Printmaking (Part Time)

  • Level 2 Photography (Part Time)
