This qualification aims to introduce the concepts of equality and diversity in a variety of environments including society, the community and the workplace. It will also highlight how stereotyping and labelling affect individuals and outline the effects of prejudice and discrimination. The programme will allow the learner to examine rights and responsibilities, stress the importance of taking individual responsibility and action to help and support others and provide a basis for further study and/or career development.
This course is designed to support and improve professional skills for the workplace, to enable individuals to further develop their technical skills within the workplace.
The course will prepare learners for further training and support a role in the workplace where learners need knowledge on equality and diversity.
You will need:
• To complete a satisfactory initial assessment in literacy skills.
• It may also be useful to have already achieved a Level 1 qualification prior to this qualification.
You will study the following 3 mandatory units:
• Equality and diversity in society
• Equality and diversity in the community
• Equality and diversity in the workplace
Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit. You will be allocated an assessor who will support you through the learning process and assess your work, providing advice and guidance. You would be expected to complete the programme in 16 weeks.
On completion of this course you will receive a Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity, from NCFE.
