This course will equip learners with an understanding of mental health conditions including depression and anxiety, legislation and guidance surrounding mental health, risk factors that may affect mental well-being and how to build resilience against these.
This course is ideal for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of childrens and young people's mental health. This qualification supports progression onto further mental health qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care or education sector.

What are the entry requirements for the course?

You will need:

• To be 19 years of age or above

• To complete a satisfactory initial assessment in literacy skills.

What does the course involve?

This course is split into five mandatory units:

• Understand Children and Young People's Mental Health in Context.

• Understand Factors which may affect Children and Young People's Mental Health.

• Understand Children and Young People's Mental Halth Concerns.

• Understand the Impact of Children and Young People's Mental Health Concerns.

• Understand how to Support Children and Young People with Mental Health Concerns

How will I be Assessed?

Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit. You will be allocated an assessor who will support you through the learning process and assess your work providing advice and guidance. You will be expected to complete the programme in 16 weeks.

When can I start?

This course is Distance Learning and has flexible start dates so you can start at any time throughout the year.

What qualification will I get?

On completion of this course you will recieve a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Childrens and Young Peoples Mental Health from cache.
