A Traineeship is a work based learning programme tailor made around your needs. It offers the chance to undertake quality work experience in an employment sector of your choice for a minimum of 100 hours. As a successful trainee you will have developed the skills and knowledge to apply for an Apprenticeship and be more skilled and confident to apply for jobs.
You will cover maths and English skills, work preparation skills and have a practical work placement.

Who is this Course for?

This course is designed for 16-18 year old and will be delivered as a study programme which includes math and English where applicable and work experience. The course will include a substantial amount of careers related learning designed to support progression to the suitable next step, this could include educational trips, employability skills and employer encounters such as guest speakers.

What are the entry requirements for the course?

You need to be motivated to work towards the skills and qualifications to progress to support progression into an Apprenticeship or employment.

You also need to be punctual, reliable, have good interpersonal skills and to present yourself professionally in the workplace.

What does the course involve?

You will study work preparation skills including CV writing, interview preparation and techniques, team working skills to support your progression and confidence building.

All students are required to study Functional English and Maths qualifications or GCSE mathematics and English if not already awarded a grade C/4 or higher in these subjects.

We will help you find a suitable work placement which will run for up to 5 months depending on your needs.

How will I be Assessed?

This course is continuously assessed using a range of methods including a workplace review, practical performance and a workplace diary.

When can I start?

You can start this Traineeship at any time throughout the year.
