Positive Prospects

What Is Positive Prospects?

Positive Prospects is a flexible, supportive programme designed to help young people who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) or at risk of disengaging from education. We offer a safe, motivating space to rebuild confidence, gain practical skills, and explore future pathways.

Positive Prospects supports 16–24-year-olds to build confidence, develop skills, and progress intoeducation, work, or volunteering through personalised support and practical activities.

Who We Support

  • NEET learners aged 16–18 and 19+
  • Students with low college attendance
  • Young people referred by external agencies or selfreferral
  • Year 11 pupils at risk of becoming NEET (via school outreach)

What We Offer

  • 2 sessions per week alongside Maths & English
  • Gateway Qualifications in:
    o Employability Skills
    o Conduct & Personal Presentation for Work
    o Communication Skills for Work
    o Applying for Jobs
  • Budget Cooking & Money Management workshops
  • Immersive career exploration using our 360° Igloo
  • Taster sessions across curriculum areas
  • Summer camps & half-term programmes focused on:
    o Team building
    o Communication skills
    o Social development
  • Wellbeing-focused day trips to promote confidence & sustainability

School Engagement

We work with local schools to deliver half-day taster sessions for Year 11 students at risk of becoming NEET,offering early intervention and a positive introduction to post-16 education.
