Taxi & Private Hire Driving
This course is run in conjunction with Lancaster City Council and is specifically aimed at taxi drivers wanting to learn more about driver safety and to improve their customer service skills. All enquiries should first contact LCC on 01524 582033.
Pre Course Knowledge Test
A pre-course knowledge test consisting of 45 questions which takes place at Lancaster & Morecambe College must be passed prior to being enrolled on the 2-day Introduction to the Role of the Taxi and Private Hire Driver course. Once the knowledge test has been completed and successfully passed you will be able to book onto the 2-day course that is delivered at Lancaster & Morecambe college.

I love working with my students and helping them to achieve their goals. It is extremely rewarding when students pass their exams, grasp a complex concept, and, ultimately, succeed in their qualification and in their careers.
Teaching is my favourite part of the role, I love being able to help people reach that lightbulb moment in class! I also enjoy being able to inspire the next generation of Residential workers.
If you are interested in working with animals, this is a great course for you! As not only do you gain the knowledge and practical skills to work with animals, but you also gain the employability skills to be able to work in teams and work within the industry. It's important to remember that jobs in the animal industry are not just about working with animals, you need to have the skills to deal with people too!
Even though I only work with learners through distance learning, it is possible to establish a rapport with a learner that has been assigned to me – it is wonderful to help a person develop their confidence through the many distance learning awards we have on offer and to watch their work go from strength to strength.
Be prepared to work hard and be challenged. The more you put in, the more you will get out of the course. It's a rewarding experience as you can clearly see your skills develop. There is also a great demand for skilled plasterers and the potential for good earnings, so why not give it a go?
All you need to start the Supported Internship course is enthusiasm, motivation, energy and determination. As the course progresses, you will develop your employability, personal and social skills, which will enable you to increase your independence and develop your confidence and self-esteem. All of these new skills will ensure that you are better prepared to enter the workplace as a skilled and effective employee.
