My favourite part of working at LMC is the friendly and supportive environment. Everyone works together as a team, doing their best to help and support the next generation as they develop their skills and progress into the workplace.

Luke started working at Lancaster and Morecambe College in March 2026 after working in industry for many years and wanting to share his knowledge and skillset with the future generation.

Luke has a passion for catering and hospitality and in his most recent role as Head Chef at the popular Quite SImply French in Lancaster, he wanted to use his knowledge and experience to develop the next generation of hospitality professionals within our local area.

We asked Luke what his favourite part of the role working at LMC is and he said,

My favourite part of working at LMC is the friendly and supportive environment. Everyone works together as a team, doing their best to help and support the next generation as they develop their skills and progress into the workplace.

We asked Luke what his main resposibilites in his role are and he said,

My main role is working with catering apprentices, supporting and guiding them throughout their learning journey. I use my industry knowledge and experience to help learners develop the skills, confidence and professionalism needed to become the best chefs they can be. My responsibilities include delivering both theory and practical sessions, assessing progress and providing ongoing support to help apprentices achieve their goals.

We asked Luke, what would you say to someone who was thinking about studying in hospitality and catering and he said,

I would say go for it. Catering and hospitality can be a very rewarding careers, whether you dream of working in some of the finest restaurants and hotels in the world or in your local cafe. That's what I love about the industry - it's so versatile and there really is a role for everyone.

Luke went on to say how hospitality and catering at LMC can help students develop their skills, knowledge and confidence so that they can kick-start an amazing career in a fast-paced, exciting industry.
