I highly recommend the course. I gained so much knowledge and practical skills during my time at College. My tutor, Jon, was so welcoming and helped me every step of the way. The qualification itself is also immensely helpful, it opens so many doors for you.
Amelia joined Lancaster & Morecambe College in September 2024, studying Business T Level and has since successfully secured a job in the industry!
I chose to study the Business T Level at LMC because I loved business in high school. Rather than doing A Levels and studying multiple subjects, I wanted to focus on something I was genuinely interested in.
The course allowed Amelia to develop her business knowledge and skills further, offering a mix of classroom work and practical experience.
I have developed lots of skills on the course, but I have definitely become much more confident working in professional environments. The course taught me how important it is to be reliable, meet deadlines and take responsibility for my own work. Most importantly, I think my teamwork skills have drastically improved.
I learnt that gaining practical experience is just as important as learning the theory, and it's so important to take all opportunities when they come your way. Because of those experiences and the course, I got a much better understanding of what I wanted from my future career; the course really helped me prepare for life after College.
As well as the course benefiting Amelia professionally, she also highlighted the friendships she gained from being at College:
The most enjoyable part of the course was definitely the friendships I made along the way. Having someone around who is also going through the same experiences made College really enjoyable.
Amelia qualified in 2026, going beyond her predicted grade! Since leaving College she has landed a job working in Sales and Customer Service where she puts her skills to use in industry.
I currently work as a Sales and Customer Service Advisor and Administrator, where I act as a key point of contact for customers, helping turn their questions and requirements into positive outcomes. My role involves building strong customer relationships, responding to enquiries and recommending suitable products or solutions. I also support the sales process, manage administrative tasks, keep correct records, and ensure every interaction reflects a high standard.
When asked what she would say to someone thinking of doing Business T Level, Amelia Said:
I highly recommend the course. I gained so much knowledge and practical skills during my time at College. My tutor, Jon, was so welcoming and helped me every step of the way. The qualification itself is also immensely helpful, it opens so many doors for you.
It’s really difficult to state just one thing I love about working at Lancaster & Morecambe College because there are so many! I really wanted to work here because the college has a fantastic reputation. I love introducing new ways of working and keeping up with relevant trends to improve the course, and I really enjoy the supportive environment that we create for our students.
Teaching is my favourite part of the role, I love being able to help people reach that lightbulb moment in class! I also enjoy being able to inspire the next generation of Residential workers.
I enjoy being part of the team and thinking of new ways to support local businesses in realising their potential. Watching learners transition from a one-day course to gaining qualifications motivates me to continue teaching at LMC.
Industry specific apprenticeships are a great way to learn new skills and knowledge, achieve a recognised qualification and earn a wage. Customer service is the corner stone of every successful business, and courses at LMC will help you identify, improve and introduce these skills successfully.
I truly believe the skills developed as a Teaching Assistant are incredibly valuable and transferable, whether you want to progress within education or explore a different pathway in the future; it is a career where you can continue to learn, develop and grow.
The course gives people experiences of business in many forms which can be used in a huge variety of possible future careers – past students have gone on to work in sectors as diverse as fashion, charities, social media, nuclear energy, defence manufacturing and the public sector.
