Choosing to study in the Health & Social Care department at Lancaster & Morecambe College will give you access to exciting programmes of learning, taught by extremely well qualified tutors with industry experience. Progression through the qualifications levels is encouraged and supported. You will undertake work experience as part of your course, in a variety of settings, where you can apply what you have learnt in the classroom to practical experiences, this includes NHS placements as well as local nursery settings, schools, day centres and care homes. The Health & Social Care sector is one of the largest employers in the local area so the courses can lead to fantastic job opportunities. There are excellent enrichment opportunities available, including visits to universities, higher education taster days and master classes, industry guest speakers, community events, and educational visits, we look forward to welcoming you to the Health & Social Care department.

My advice for anyone thinking of doing Health & Social Care Level 2 is to just go for it, especially if it's your passion. You could also get some experience by contacting local care homes and asking about volunteering or becoming an Ancillary Assistant, as that can jump start your career in Health & Social Care.
