The purpose of the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting is to enhance the skills developed from the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, enabling students to maximise opportunities in their current or new employment.

Who is this Course for?

This course is designed for adult learners studying part time as a hobby or to support a change in their career.

What progression and career opportunities will I gain?

Completion of the Professional Diploma in Accounting allows candidates to apply to receive AAT Accountant (MAAT) status. An AAT Accountant is a qualified accounting professional with the practical and technical skills needed to support businesses with their accounting activities.

Typical job roles for an AAT Accountant include Financial Accountant, Commercial Analyst, Senior Finance Officer, Payroll Manager, VAT Accountant and Tax Supervisor.

An AAT Accountant can sign off the accounts for companies up to the audit threshold, where a company does not have a turnover more than £6.5 million and its balance sheet total is not more than £3.26 million

Completion of the Professional Diploma in Accounting may also result in credits being awarded towards relevant undergraduate degree programmes.

What are the entry requirements for the course?

3 GCSEs at grade A*-C OR a Level 2 related qualification PLUS grade C/4 or higher in both maths and English plus:

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (or similar such as “A” level accounting; or related experience in the workplace sufficient to pass a skills test to the appropriate level

• Management Accounting: Budgeting

• Management Accounting: Decision and Control

• Financial Statements of Limited Companies

• Accounting Systems and Controls

• Credit Management

• Cash & Treasury Management

All LMC students will receive tutorial support.

How will I be Assessed?

You will be assessed using an exam/online test.

What qualification will I get?

On completion of this course you will recieve an AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting.
