Lancaster & Morecambe College are pleased to offer a Microsoft Word for Beginners workshop for a special price of £80 including refreshments and a light business lunch.
This workshop is suitable for those who have an understanding of MS Word and want to
use it more extensively in a business environment.

Course Activities

Microsoft Word is designed to create a wide variety of professional documents quickly and easily. On this workshop, we will give you the ability to create, amend and manipulate documents for a professional look, investigate some of the more complex functions, create documents with graphics for reports and customise the toolbars.

Topics covered will include:

  • The screen - toolbars, ruler, page setup, margins and tabs

  • Formatting - highlighting, setting tabs, special characters, borders & boxes, paragraphing,

  • headers & footers and styles

  • Formatting long documents - page breaks, page numbers and find & replace

  • Tables - creating, columns/rows, merging & splitting cells, bordering & formatting and

  • sorting

  • Inserting objects - clip art, pictures, word art and smart art.

Course Fees

This course costs £80.00, including exam fees.

You may be eligible for free study if you are 23 or under and this is your first full Level 2 or 3 course. Alternatively, if you are unemployed, receiving an eligible benefit, and taking the course to help you find employment.
