This NCFE certificate in cleaning is perfect for anyone that is looking to develop their cleaning knowledge and skills. They would gain an understanding of the basic principles of cleanliness, hygiene and waste management enabling them to progress within their current role.

Who is this Course for?

This course is designed for adult learners studying part time as a hobby or to support a change in their career.

What progression and career opportunities will I gain?

This course will prepare learners for further training and support a role in the workplace.

What are the entry requirements for the course?

You will need:

• To be 19 years of age or above

• To complete a satisfactory initial assessment in literacy skills

• You must be employed as a cleaner

What does the course involve?

This course is split into six manageable units. These are:

• Dealing with routine and non-routine waste

• Health and safety for the cleaning and support services industry

• Working with customers and others in the cleaning and support services industry

• Infection control, RIDDOR and COSHH in cleaning settings

• Principles of decontamination, cleaning and waste management

• Cleaning of interiors and washrooms (this uinit includes witness observations)

How will I be Assessed?

Studying via distance learning means learners can choose when and where they study. Learners will get all the support they need throughout their course. They can complete the course via paper based or online assessments. The course should take between 12-16 weeks to complete.

What qualification will I get?

On completion of this course you will receive a national recognised qualification, a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Cleaning and Support Services.
