This course is designed for adult learners that are currently unemployed or in-between job roles. The study programme will support learners enhance and develop their existing skills, and also develop the skills that employers are looking for at the recruitment stage.

The programme will include presentations from guest speakers from around the district from a wide range of industries and on successful completion of the course you will be awarded an industry recognised qualification issued by NCFE.

Entry Requirements

Although you do not need any formal qualifications to join the course, you must be motivated to participate in group discussions and practical exercises.

Course Activities

This is a 3-week programme that will require learners to attend campus on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

This course will cover employability skills in the following areas:

  • Understanding Mind-set

  • Interview Skills

  • Working in a Team

  • CV Writing

The course is continual assessment using a range of methods including classroom observation and group exercises.

The programme will offer career guidance to learners, and also sign post learners to other learning options available through Lancaster & Morecambe College. 

On completion of this course you will receive an industry recognised award qualification issued by NCFE in Employability Skills.

On completion of the course you will offered the opportunity to discuss the progression options that are available to you on a 1:1 basis, these options include:

  • Traineeships

  • Apprenticeships

  • Further study – Part Time/Full Time

  • Employment
