What I’ve gained most from this course is confidence. I started AAT Accounting Level 2 as a very shy and quiet student, but as I have become more knowledgeable, my confidence has also strengthened. After passing each AAT level it has opened up so many doors for me at work as with each new skill I learn I am able to pursue more tasks at work.

Lauren joined Lancaster & Morecambe College in 2022 to study AAT Accounting Level 2 and has progressed with us through to AAT Accounting Level 4.

She chose to study at the College as she had previously been a student after leaving school and knew it was run to a high standard. Many of the students on the Level 4 course have progressed together from Level 2, supporting and guiding each other along the way and building strong friendships and a valuable support network.

Our tutor, Denise Almond, has taught us across all three levels. She is very understanding of how we all learn and puts 100% into every lesson.

The AAT courses cover the key knowledge and practical skills needed to work in the finance industry, helping students build confidence in completing a range of accounting tasks. AAT Accounting Level 4 is the highest level offered at the College and develops the skills gained in previous levels to maximise opportunities for progression in new or current employment.

When asked what she would say to someone thinking of doing Accounting, Lauren said:

Go for it! I came into this as an older student. I was 31, I had many talks with myself about being too old to pursue a new career but I would not look back now! You are really never too old to learn.
