The purpose of the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting is to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills required for progressing either to employment in an accounting or finance role, or to enable progression to further study in accountancy and finance

Who is this Course for?

This course is designed for adult learners studying part time as a hobby or to support a change in their career.

What progression and career opportunities will I gain?

On successful completion of this course, students can apply for AAT associate bookkeeping membership and become a professional AAT Bookkeeper (AATQB), gain employment within the industry as an accounting technician or continue study through:

• Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting

• Level 4 Professional Apprenticeship in Accounting

• Level 4 HNC in Business

This qualification can also open up a choice of great careers, as well as a route to higher education

What are the entry requirements for the course?

3 GCSEs at grade A*-C OR a Level 2 related qualification (such as Foundation Certificate in Accounting or Foundation Diploma in Accounting and Business) PLUS grade C/4 or higher in both maths and English or related experience in the workplace sufficient to pass a skills test to the appropriate level

What does the course involve?

You will study the following:

• Advanced Bookkeeping

• Final Accounts Preparation

• Management Accounting: Costing

• Indirect Tax

• Ethics for Accountants

• Spreadsheets for Accounting

All LMC students will receive tutorial support.

How will I be Assessed?

You will be assessed using an exam/online test

What qualification will I get?

On completion of this course you will recieve a AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting
The accountancy skills developed through this nationally recognised qualification will enable a student to seek employment with confidence and/or to progress to the next level of learning as it can generate up to 56 UCAS points for Higher Education.
