
We're celebrating our latest Ofsted inspection which graded the College as GOOD and recognises the improvements which have been introduced since their previous visit.
90% of students go straight into employment or further study after completing their course at College.

We have a successful, long-standing history of offering European Work Placements for our students, helping them gain a foothold in their chosen careers as well as a better understanding of the wider world.
Last year, alongside trips to Italy and Spain, we expanded these opportunities even further with exciting industry placements in the Caribbean, New York and Canada. These fully-funded trips offer our students the opportunity to develop confidence and employability skills, working alongside their peers from other countries and with students from different educational backgrounds. My favourite part of working at Lancaster & Morecambe college is watching students progress and supporting them with their learning. I also love knowing they are learning within a hairdressing environment and being able to see them develop their skills and knowledge in hairdressing.

My favourite part of this role is working with such an amazing team here at Lancaster & Morecambe College, and also being able to pass on my industry knowledge to all my students and support them in their journey to becoming a Beauty Therapist.
Industry specific apprenticeships are a great way to learn new skills and knowledge, achieve a recognised qualification and earn a wage. Customer service is the corner stone of every successful business, and courses at LMC will help you identify, improve and introduce these skills successfully.
I would say that Hospitality & Catering industry isn’t an easy option, but it can be really rewarding and enjoyable if you work hard at it. It also has excellent job prospects at the end of the course, as the majority of our completing students gain full time employment within high class establishments

All you need to start the Supported Internship course is enthusiasm, motivation, energy and determination. As the course progresses, you will develop your employability, personal and social skills, which will enable you to increase your independence and develop your confidence and self-esteem. All of these new skills will ensure that you are better prepared to enter the workplace as a skilled and effective employee.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience of animals with students and seeing a learners journey as they make progress. The best part of teaching the course would definitely be the experience we offer learners, it's a unique and hands on way of developing their knowledge of working with animals.
My role is to work alongside the tutors and students to ensure the work placements are secured, completed and recorded in line with procedural requirements. This is a simple description, as there is a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure this happens! I see good communication, administration, attention to detail and patience as key attributes of the role.
My favourite part of my role is being able to recall my industry knowledge and then passing it onto my students. The knowledge I have from working in the industry gives the students a better understanding of real life situations and how to transfer their skills into future careers.
The most satisfying part of my job role is inspiring students to have the confidence to become beauty therapists and work in their dream careers.
We have a very knowledgeable and dedicated team from different areas of the animal industry. We offer a range of courses in Animal Studies at different levels to cater for a wide range of students. Practically, you will work with a range of animals on site, spend time in our laboratories and hone your skills further during independent work-related experience. Working with animals can be a fun and rewarding career but it does involve hard graft and dedication!
