How to Apply
Applying for a course at Lancaster & Morecambe College couldn't be easier.
Click here to apply online now, and complete all your details and select the course you want to apply for. If you aren’t sure which course would be best for you, please contact a member our Student Services team who can discuss this with you and offer impartial guidance to help you decide.
Once you have submitted your application, our Admissions team will email you with an interview appointment within 10 working days. Please indicate any dates or times that you will be unable to attend an interview as this will make it easier to book you a suitable appointment. Usually schools are fine with you taking time out of school to attend an interview, just show them your invite letter.
Otherwise, you can call us on 01524 521237 or 0800 306 306; just ask for an application form to be posted to you, or you can collect one in person from Student & Learning Services, the Hexagon here at college.
What happens after I apply?
At the interview
You will meet the course tutor and discuss the course in more detail to make sure it meets your expectations and abilities. It would be useful if you could bring with you to the interview any exam results/certificates, details of any work experience or employment and any specialist reports to support your application for additional learning support, if appropriate. You will be asked about your progress at school or work, hobbies, future plans and career aims. You will be asked to do a short piece of writing and may undertake a Literacy and Numeracy assessment. The tutor will tell you at the end of the interview whether or not you will be offered a place on your chosen course. The offer will be conditional, and the conditions will be fully explained to you and confirmed in writing following the interview.
Following the interview
Our Admissions team will send you an offer letter, detailing the conditions that were discussed at your interview. You will need to confirm that you wish to accept the offer to secure your place.
Preparing to start college
Once you have accepted your offer of a place, you may be invited to attend a Welcome Event or an activity session offered by your curriculum area. You will be sent all your induction information which tells you when you will start college, what you need to bring and all the information you need for starting college in September. To find out about term dates look at our College Calendar.
