My biggest accomplishment has been taking part in the regional heats for the Skillbuild Competition and finishing in 3rd place. This was my first competition entry and the level of the competition was very strong, so I was very please to be place third in my round.

Employer: VolkerBrooks Ltd - a specialist service provider of plant and equipment, formwork, steel fabrication and Linkflote pontoons to the civil engineering and maritime sectors

What are the best things about your course?
It opens up Further and Higher Education opportunities in the construction industry.

Why did you choose your course?
My dad is a Joiner and it has been something that I have always been interested in learning more about from an early age.

Why did you choose Lancaster & Morecambe College?
It was the nearest college that offered the course I was interested in, but also I had good recommendations from friends who had attended LMC previously.

What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the course?
100% go for it! I have received brilliant support from the tutor throughout the course and have enjoyed learning more about my trade at College whilst also being employed at the same time.

What has been your biggest accomplishment whilst studying at LMC?
My biggest accomplishment has been taking part in the regional heats for the Skillbuild Competition and finishing in 3rd place. This was my first competition entry and the level of the competition was very strong, so I was very please to be place third in my round.

What do you hope to do when you’ve completed this course?
I would really like to gain more experience in the industry and hopefully progress onto a relevant Higher Education course afterwards.
