Childcare is so rewarding and caring for young people is different everyday.
Danielle first studied back in 2000 at Lancaster and Morecambe College on a course known then as the National Nursery Examination Board (NNEB).
The NNEB qualification was a two year, full-time childcare training programme that is no longer offered today. It covered all elements of childcare including health, first aid, nutrition, play, emotional and social development, course topics that are covered in our other full time child education courses today. A similar course that LMC offer now would be the Early Years Workforce Level 3 course.
LMC was close to home for Danielle and that is why she chose to study here. We asked her what the most enjoyable parts of her course were and she said...
I loved learning about something I always wanted to do.
Danielle said that studying with LMC was the starting point for her career and she learnt key knowledge she was able to transfer into the real world of work soon after she completed her qualification. In her own words, Danielle has worked her way up the ranks to now owning her own private day nursery in her local area which she says is her biggest accomplishment.
We asked her what she would say to someone thinking about studying in childcare and she said...
Do it. Childcare is so rewarding and caring for young people is different everyday.
