My best bit about the course was being selected for Bulgaria. This was a great life experience and it helped me gain confidence. I had a brilliant time. We also took a trip to Poland, this was another great experience the college offered. We visited a number of historic places. I also enjoyed the different topics of Public Services and the knowledge they offered.

What did you do after College?
After leaving college in 2014 I joined the RAF looking for a full time job that would pay me well and allow me to travel. It took me six months to eventually start the 10 week basic training and I began this in December. After completing this and various other training courses I was posted to my first unit which was RAF Linton-On-Ouse in Yorkshire. After spending two years there, I eventually got posted to RAF Brize Norton to carry out my role as Cabin Crew. As well as my full time job, the military allows you to compete in various sports. With this I have travelled to four European countries to compete.

How did you get into your career?
After studying Public Services I was given an insight in a variety of options that I could pursue as a career. The military stood out for me. We had several visits from the different services and even had a week away with the army. I thoroughly enjoyed the week away and that’s when I knew I should apply.

Why did you choose Lancaster & Morecambe College?
LMC holds a good reputation and it’s very close to home for me.

How did LMC help you get where you are today?
It gave me the knowledge and confidence to apply for the military. It prepared me for a life within the Public Services.

What would you say to someone who was thinking about doing the same course?
Even if you don’t know what public service you would like to get into, it gives you the time to think about it and also the skills you will need for the future.
