The idea that the only way to achieve a great career is through sixth form is just not the case. I studied at College and now work as an Air Ops (Systems) Officer in the RAF.
The course helped me develop valuable skills in project management, communication, leadership, and working with a wide range of people. Professionally, it taught me how to manage multiple deadlines and confidently tailor communication for different audiences. Most importantly, I learned that anything is achievable with the right support and determination.
Everyone at LMC is really nice. I have made lots of new friends and had opportunities to get involved with different things, such as the Student Ambassador programme.
It was the beginning of my journey to my dream career as a teacher.
I would say applying to the Sports course at LMC was one of the best decisions I have ever made, from the memories I created to the career I have now. The course is practical, exciting, and genuinely prepares you for the world of work. If you love sport and want to turn that passion into a career, LMC is the place to do it. I would love to relive my time at LMC — they were some of the best years of my life.
If you are thinking about doing this Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship, it is beneficial as you are able to learn the practical skills in the work place, whilst achieving a qualification.
I have gained a range of key skills from this course, but the most important has been the confidence to speak up and ask questions, knowing that people are always willing to help.
I have learnt key skills such as basic bookkeeping and accounting principles. I really enjoy the problem-solving and attention to detail in accounting, and the course has really helped me improve these skills, which will help me get a job in an accountancy firm.
The course has supported my career progression and given me a better understanding of the processes I complete at work. I have developed a range of valuable skills, particularly learning how to work under pressure and prioritise my workload.
What I’ve gained most from this course is confidence. I started AAT Accounting Level 2 as a very shy and quiet student, but as I have become more knowledgeable, my confidence has also strengthened. After passing each AAT level it has opened up so many doors for me at work, as with each new skill I learn I am able to pursue more tasks at work.
The course I studied is ultimately the reason I chose my specific career path and I put the success I have down to the College.
The course is giving me a better understanding of the processes I complete at work and the reasons behind them. I also feel I have gained new skills which allow me to undertake more tasks.
