What brought you to LMC?
Before coming to LMC I was a Science Teacher in a secondary school. I had always wanted to work with animals, as I’d grown up with a family pet shop business. I started in 2008 as the first animal studies technician. Soon after starting at LMC a position became available as an Animal Studies tutor, which I applied for and was successful.
What is your favourite thing about the job?
I really enjoy working with the wide range of animals, especially the exotic species. Seeing our students become more confident with the animals over their time at LMC is very rewarding.
What is the best thing about the course you teach?
I get to teach about a subject that I am passionate about and transfer my knowledge and skills to our students.
What are the best things about working at college?
I work with an amazing team, plus every day is a different and unique challenge - the job is never boring!
I really enjoy passing on my joinery experiences and skills to the students, as well watching them develop into good citizens.
I enjoy helping young people achieve their GCSE English, a key qualification which will open doors for them in the future.
Studying on the business course at LMC will open up numerous doors for your future, so if you can see business as a key part of your future and are prepared to seize every opportunity, our course will be the most amazing thing you ever sign up for.
LMC is a great community asset and I think the local district are lucky to have such a modern, flexible and engaging place of education.
