I would encourage anyone considering the course to go for it. The course offers much more than subject knowledge; it also helps students develop valuable, transferable skills that can support them in whatever they choose to do in the future. Whether they decide to continue their studies, move into employment or follow a different pathway, the skills and experience gained on this course can help them to excel.

Daniela  joined Lancaster & Morecambe College in August 2026 as a Lecturer on the Forensic Science course. She was drawn to the role because of the opportunity to share her knowledge and experience while supporting young people to develop their skills, confidence and aspirations for the future within the industry.

For me, the most rewarding part of working at LMC is being able to use my skills, knowledge and experience to make a genuine difference to young people's lives. I enjoy seeing students develop throughout their time at College and helping them to recognise their own potential and what they can achieve.

Daniels teaches a variety of subjects, including Forensic Science, Forensic Genetics, Forensic Photography, Principles of Science and Criminal Investigation Procedures in Practice. Alongside teaching, she also provides one-to-one support, prepares engaging lessons and contributes to developing the curriculum. She is passionate about creating learning experiences that bring subjects to life and help students understand how their knowledge can be applied in the real world. She particularly enjoys helping to connect classroom learning with real-world issues and encouraging students to think critically about the subject they are studying.

Daniela is consistently involved in a range of projects and enjoys taking part in academic discussions and opportunities that allow her to continue learning and exploring new ideas. Her interests cover a wide variety of areas, with one recent example being her collaboration with the Complex Trauma Institute. This work explores current issues around how different sectors respond to crises and support trauma recovery.
