What do I need to join?

You will need:
• 80 UCAS Points
• GCSE maths and English at grade C/4 or higher
• A level Biology/Ascentis (not mandatory but useful for progression)
• A suitable academic reference or employer reference

You will also need to demonstrate enthusiasm for the subject and have a commitment to study.

General Information

This course is designed for students wishing to gain employment in the Health & Social Care sectors or to progress onto further study at a higher level.

This course will emphasise the development of both academic and practical skills and the associated understanding related to the health and social care sector. The course will provide students with the knowledge and skills for employment in the sector as well as developing personal qualities and attitudes essential for a successful career. It will also include specialist studies relevant to individual professions within the health and social care sector such as sociology, psychology and research skills.

After one year students will gain a level 4 HNC which can be presented to employers or other academic institutions.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for students who are aged 18 years and over, who are capable of reaching the required standards and who wish to develop careers or retrain and work in health and social care services.
